Nagoya U-15s win All-Japan Youth Championship

The Nagoya Grampus Under-15 side was crowned with the All-Japan Youth U-15 Championship with a 2-0 win over the Kyoto Sanga FC Under-15 side in the final on Wednesday at the National Stadium in Tokyo.
That was Nagoya’s first success in the annual tournament since 1999.

After a scoreless first half, forward Shuto Kitagawa, who scored a hat trick in his side’s 8-0 victory against Ehime FC in the first round, put Nagoya ahead soon after the break by slotting home a loose ball for his tournament-high fifth strike.
Substitute defender Ryoma Akatsuka added for insurance three minutes into the second half additional time.

Kitagawa won the honor as a tourney’s top goal-scorer, along with Kenta Tanaka of the Yokohama F. Marinos Jr. Youth Oppapa team and Ryu Olivie Iwamoto of Kyoto Sanga.
