Japan to play Syria in friendly in November
Japan will play Syria in a Kirin Challenge Cup friendly match on November 13 at Home’s Stadium in Kobe (kickoff at 7:20 p.m.) as a warm-up for the World Cup final-round qualifier away to Qatar on November 19, it was announced Monday.
“Qatar were unbeaten in their last two matches and have shown rapid development, and we will be playing them away,” Japan coach Takeshi Okada noted.
“I’d like to check our readiness in the game with them before going to Qatar. Syria is an ideal side for that.”
