Okada calls up Takagi for injured Nakazawa
Japan coach Takeshi Okada made a further change to his squad Monday ahead of the upcoming friendly with Syria and the World Cup qualifier in Qatar, calling up Shimizu S-Pulse defender Kazumichi Takagi in place of the injured Yuji Nakazawa of the Yokohama F. Marinos.
The Japan squad started a preparation camp on Monday in Kobe ahead of Thursday’s Kirin Challenge Cup friendly with Syria and a World Cup final-round qualifier with Qatar in Doha on November 19.
On Sunday, Okada called up Urawa Reds goalkeeper Ryuta Tsuzuki for the injured Seigo Narazaki.
