Japan lost 1-0 to Syria in their opening match at the Under-20 Qatar International Friendly Tournament in Doha on Sunday.

The Japan Football Association decided at a JFA Executive Committee meeting on Friday to extend the contract of Nadeshiko Japan coach Norio Sasaki.
Under the new contract, which runs for three years from February 1, the 50-year-old Sasaki will continue to be the senior women’s team coach, as well as the Japan women’s Under-19 coach.
