The Futsal Japan women’s team reached the final of the Asian Indoor Games tournament after beating Thailand 5-2 in the semifinals on Wednesday at Tan Binh Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The Japanese women will play either Iran or Jordan in the final on Friday as they seek to defend the title they won in 2007.
Japan went ahead in the 11th minute through Kana Watanabe, but that was cancelled out five minutes later.
Shiori Nakajima broke the tie in the 24th minute and Azumi Fujita followed with a strike three minutes later.
After Thailand pulled a goal back, Sayo Kikkawa made it 4-2 in the 30th minute before Nakajima struck again in the 40th minute to complete the scoring for Japan.
The Japanese women’s side advanced to the semifinals after finishing second in their group following a 3-2 loss to Iran on Monday in their second and final group match.
