Japan advanced to the knockout stage of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Dubai after a 3-2 comeback victory over the Ivory Coast in their second group-stage game on Tuesday.

Trailing 2-1 at the end of the second period, Masato Toma and Teruki Tabata scored to help Japan top Group B with their second straight win.
Japan, who finished fourth in the 2005 edition, will play El Salvador on Wednesday in their third and final group match before heading to the quarterfinals on Friday.
