Futsal Japan squad announced for East Asian Championship
The Futsal Japan squad for the EAFF Futsal Championship, slated for November 24-29 in Beijing, was announced on Thursday.
Japan will play Macao on November 24, Hong Kong on November 25 and Chinese Taipei on November 26 in Group A. Hosts China, Korea Republic and Guam will compete in Group B.
The top two finishers will advance to the semifinals on November 28. The final and the third-place playoff will be held on November 29.
The tournament will serve as a qualifier for the 2010 AFC Futsal Championship and the top three finishers (not including Japan) will earn a berth for the Asian competition. Japan booked their place after finishing third in the 2008 AFC tournament.
