The Japan squad completed their activities for 2009 with a short camp in Tokyo on Wednesday.

In the two-day sessions, the players worked on physical conditioning at indoor venues without using a ball.
The session also included a lecture on running skills by Fukushima University Track and Field coach Kazuhisa Kawamoto.
“It was new,” Gamba Osaka midfielder and new Asian Player of the Year Yasuhito Endo said of the lecture. “It was a different angle to look at things. I’d like to try what we learned in training.”
“It’s been a fulfilling year,” said Japan coach Takeshi Okada. “Our players did well under pressure this year and I’m grateful for their hard work.”
In the 2010 finals in South Africa, Japan will play Cameroon, Netherlands and Denmark in the group stage.
