A day after obtaining approval from the Japanese Cabinet for its bid to host the 2018/2022 World Cup, Japan submitted its Bidding Agreement to FIFA on Wednesday.

The next step in the procedure will be the filing of a Bid Book to FIFA by May 14 next year to explain Japan’s intentions and hosting plans.
The JFA successfully won approval at a regular Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
In addition to Japan, Australia, England, Indonesia, Russia, the United States and co-hosting bidders Holland/Belgium and Spain/Portugal are bidding for the 2018/2022 World Cups, while Korea Republic and Qatar are bidding for the 2022 event only.
The successful bids will be announced in December 2010 at a FIFA Executive Committee meeting.
