Women’s U-20 World Cup squad named

The Japan women’s Under-20 squad for the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Germany was named on Wednesday.

The 21-member squad is managed by Norio Sasaki, and includes forward Mana Iwabuchi of Nippon TV Beleza and midfielder Michi Goto of Urawa Reds Ladies. Both have played for the senior Japan side.
Japan’s group matches will be against Mexico on July 14 and Nigeria on July 17 in Augsburg, and England on July 21 in Bielefeld.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals on July 24 and 25. The semifinals will be held on July 29, and the final and third-place playoff will take place on August 1.
