Japan U-19s finish fifth in Milk Cup
The Japan Under-19 side finished fifth in the Milk Cup after beating China 3-0 in the fifth-place classification match on Friday in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland.
Forwards Kentaro Shigematsu of FC Tokyo and Toshiyuki Takagi of Tokyo Verdy scored in the 39th and 44th minute, respectively, before midfielder Mitsunari Musaka of Chuo University added a third in the 83rd minute.
The United States won the six-team international friendly tournament with a 3-0 victory over hosts Northern Ireland in the final. Denmark came in third after beating Mexico 3-1 in the third-place playoff.
