Japan U-16s finish second in Toyota International
The Japan Under-16 team lost to their Argentine counterparts 5-3 on penalties after a scoreless draw and finished second in the Toyota International youth tournament on Sunday.
Argentina won the tournament with three straight wins, while Japan had a 2-0-1 win-draw-loss record.
The Nagoya Grampus Under-16 team came in third after edging the United Arab Emirates 4-3. UAE finished fourth with no points.
Japan downed Nagoya 4-2 in their second match on Saturday, with Hiroki Sugajima scoring a hat trick and Hiroki Akino netting one.
