Japan U-19s beat Ghana for second win in SBS Cup Int‘l
The Japan Under-19 side earned their second straight win in the SBS International youth tournament by beating Ghana 4-1 on Sunday at Fujieda Sports Park Soccer Ground in Shizuoka Prefecture.
Forward Ryu Nagai found the net twice, with midfielders Ibuki Fujita and Yuki Kobayashi scoring additional goals to help Japan take the lead in the four-team friendly tournament.
Nagai, who plays for Cerezo Osaka, has now scored four goals, following his brace in Japan’s 2-0 win over their Spanish counterparts on Saturday.
It was the first loss for Ghana, who beat a Shizuoka XI 1-0 in their opening game on Saturday.
Japan will next play the Shizuoka XI, while Ghana will meet Spain on Tuesday, the final day of the annual tournament.
The Shizuoka XI lost 2-0 to Spain on Sunday.
