Japan to play Argentina in October

Japan will play their first game under new coach Alberto Zaccheroni when the Samurai Blue meet Argentina in a Kirin Challenge Cup friendly on October 8 at Saitama Stadium. The match will kick off at 7:50 p.m.

Argentina, who reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup in South Africa, got off to a good start in the post-World Cup era with a 1-0 win over Ireland in Dublin on August 11 and a surprising 4-1 demolition of world champions Spain at home on Tuesday under new coach Sergio Batista.
Japan have lost their last six meetings with Argentina, the last one coming in August 2004 when they were beaten 2-1 in Shizuoka.
After the Argentina friendly, Japan will travel to Seoul to play Korea Republic at Seoul World Cup Stadium on October 12. The match is to kick off at 8 p.m.
