Japan beat Thailand in Asian Beach Games opener
Japan got off to a good start in the Asian Beach Games by beating Thailand 8-2 in their opening Group C game on Wednesday in Oman.
Japan, guided by Ruy Ramos, controlled the game thanks to good work by Takeshi Kawaharazuka and Takasuke Goto.
Japan will play Lebanon on Friday before meeting Iran on Sunday. Iran beat Lebanon 9-4 on Wednesday.
The top two finishers from each of the four qualifying groups will advance to the quarterfinals on December 14. The semifinals will be held on December 15 and the final on December 16.
