Japan to play Korea Republic in August

Japan will play Korea Republic in a Kirin Challenge Cup friendly match on August 10 at Sapporo Dome in Hokkaido.

The kickoff time, expected to be at night, will be announced later.
Japan coach Alberto Zaccheroni commented: “Japan-Korea games – with Asia's two main powers – are always tough battles, and playing against such a strong side will give us a bit of pressure.
“Coming prior to our World Cup qualifiers in September, it will be a good opportunity for us to play against a strong side and see what kind of shape we're in.”
The Korea women’s team will play the Nadeshiko Japan women’s side on June 18 in Matsuyama.
JFA Vice President Kozo Tashima said, “We are grateful that Korea Republic's men's and women's will come to play us despite the current situation in our country. They responded so quickly to the call for fund-raisers soon after the East Japan disaster.”
