Beleza, Reds advance to All-Japan Women’s quarters

NTV Beleza, Urawa Reds Ladies and Albirex Niigata Ladies advanced to the quarterfinals of the All-Japan Women’s Championship on Sunday.

Asano Nagasato scored the opener in the 16th minute and Kanako Ito hit a brace as Beleza downed Hinomoto Gakuen High School of Hyogo Prefecture 5-0.
Leading 2-0 at halftime, Nanase Kiryu and Kana Osafune scored one each midway through the second half before Ito scored her second three minutes from time.
Yuika Sugasawa scored a hat trick and Yumi Kamitsuji netted twice to highlight Albirex’s 7-0 victory over Ho-oh High School of Kagoshima Prefecture.
Urawa came from behind to beat FC Takahashi Kibi International University 4-3.
Trailing 2-1 around the 60-minute mark, Michi Goto struck her second goal of the day to level the scores and Mie Iwakura and Eriko Arakawa scored in the space of three minutes about 10 minutes later for Urawa’s 4-2 lead. Kibi replied two minutes from time but it was too late to change the result of the match.
Iga FC Kunoichi beat JFA Academy Fukushima 2-0 with Yoshie Matsubara’s double.
In the quarterfinals on December 23, defending champions INAC Kobe will play AS Elfen Sayama and JEF United Ichihara-Chiba Ladies will meet Okayama Yunogo Belle at Miki Track and Field Stadium in Hyogo Prefecture. Albirex will play Urawa and Iga will take on Beleza at Kumagaya Track and Field Stadium in Saitama Prefecture.
